Thank you to everyone who attended the groundbreaking yesterday. This project has been in the planning phase for a while and we are all excited to begin the renovation. Again, your patience and cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Here are a few new reminders to keep in mind.
During construction, the surface lot will only be available for those with assigned spaces.
Visitors will not be able to park in the lot and visiting employees should be prepared to find remote parking. Double Parking will not be permitted.
During construction, emergency egress will stay the same.
Emergency issues related to the 643 renovations should be routed to Jack Brown at 847-338-4308.
All general building maintenance/engineering issues should still be sent to Tom Brannon at 847-609-7893.
Reminders from last week
Please check your calendars to ensure you haven't booked the second floor conference room. The Chicago Cubs conference room on the eighth floor is now available to reserve through Outlook.
Reception will no longer be located in the Lobby. A drawing of the new temporary entry is attached. During the renovation, you should plan to meet guests and deliveries at the first floor entrance.
The elevator walls will be protected during construction but the elevators will still be accessible. At times tradespeople may be using the elevators and stairwells to transport materials. Please be cautious and plan longer travel times when moving through the building.
This Week
Work is wrapping up on the temporary kitchen and workout room in the basement.
There will be material deliveries on Thursday and Friday to prepare for work that begins on Saturday.
Security cameras and reception are being located to the third floor.
UPS, FedEx, Messenger services have been notified to leave deliveries on the cart in the vestibule during construction. Similar to COVID protocols you should be prepared to take outgoing packages to the cart in the vestibule.
Chicago employees have been notified of parking assignments.
Next Week
Exterior barricade will be put in place.
Interior demolition will begin.
